The Land

A Timeless Landscape

This land is not just a place; it is a living, breathing expanse of rare stillness, untouched and untamed. Here, golden hills roll into the distance, hiding dry river beds, winding trails, and rock formations that hold the secrets of time itself. The harsh yet mystical terrain defies human comforts, offering extremes that unveil a deeper truth. The landscape’s infinite textures, shades, and light invite artists to surrender, to see beyond, and to be inspired by the  force of the earth.

Our Conservation

Custodians Of The Land

Schlesien is a sanctuary for human creativity and the life that pulses through its hills, plains, and skies. The Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra, oryx, duiker, and warthogs roam freely, as do the predators that quietly claim their place in this natural order – leopards, cheetahs, and brown and spotted hyenas. As stewards of this wild and sacred space, we hold conservation as a core value. It is an action and a devotion to preserving the untamed beings and untouched land for generations to come.

Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra Project

Our Conservation Interest Spans Beyond Schlesien

By removing all inner fences, we have become a natural sanctuary for the Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra, a specially protected species in Namibia classified as vulnerable by the IUCN. In partnership with UK-based Professor Morris Gosling from the Namibia Nature Foundation and the University of Newcastle, we have worked to identify the zebra families that roam our land, giving us the special opportunity to get closer to these remarkable animals. Through a uniquely developed identification system, we can establish which zebra families are residents of Schlesien and who are just passing through.
